Pompeii Fresco Prints Set of 4 – Villa of the Mysteries

Four figures from the great frieze of the Villa of the Mysteries, all on the same deep Pompeian red: Woman with a Laurel Wreath, Woman Having Her Hair Done, Woman Comforting the Initiate and Seated Mother. This set brings them together as 4 art prints, at 20% off the price of the four posters bought separately.

The Villa of the Mysteries stands just outside the walls of Pompeii. Around the 1st century BC, one of its rooms was painted with a continuous frieze of life-size figures, linked to the rites of Dionysus, on a red ground that has become the signature colour of Pompeii. This set gathers four of its moments: a woman crowned with laurel who carries a tray of offerings and looks straight at you, a bride having her hair styled while a small Cupid holds up a mirror, a seated woman stroking the hair of the initiate who hides her face in her lap, and the pensive seated mother. Hung as a grid of four, they bring back the feeling of the original room, where the figures follow one another all around the walls.
