Klimt Prints & Posters

Gold leaf, patterned robes and figures lost in their own world: Gustav Klimt turned ornament into emotion. Our Klimt Prints & Posters include a detail from The Kiss, his most famous painting, and Allegory of Sculpture from 1889, an early work that already reveals his taste for classical figures and decoration.

Gustav Klimt and the Vienna Secession

In 1897, Klimt co-founded the Vienna Secession, a group of artists who broke with academic tradition and gave decorative art the same importance as painting. Painted in 1907–08, at the height of his “Golden Period”, The Kiss has been on display at Vienna’s Belvedere ever since. Explore Klimt Prints & Posters inspired by his work.

Klimt’s work suits warm surroundings: deep greens, dark timber, brass and velvet. A single print above a bed or console is usually enough to give a room a gentle glow. For more art from the same era, explore our Art Nouveau and Mucha collections of Klimt Prints & Posters.
