Red dots cover the scene. Klimt paints poppies among daisies and blue flowers in a summer meadow, letting the field stretch almost to the top of the canvas. Two leafy trees merge with the grass, while a narrow band of sky at the top marks the horizon.
He painted this Mohnwiese in 1907. Its tightly packed surface has an almost woven quality, reminiscent of the textiles made by the Wiener Werkstätte, the design workshops he was associated with. Look closely and you’ll see that scarcely any two dots share the same colour.
Light and easy to position, it suits a bedroom or living room in need of a little colour. Available in a range of sizes, it can also be framed if you like. Explore more meadows and gardens in our Klimt posters.
