Windows, windows, windows. Then a column of balconies adds another detail to the mix.
This close-up of an apartment tower leaves out the sky, the ground and everything around it. What’s left is a grid of pale frames, dark glass and vertical rows of balconies. Small variations interrupt the pattern: a lowered blind, an open window, a little washing on the line.
The image has a steady rhythm, almost like a musical score. We find it soothing to look at, much like a neatly arranged bookshelf. It gives a wall definition without making the room feel heavy.
