The village of Vétheuil climbs the hillside on the far bank of the Seine, its houses in pink and cream gathered around the square tower of its church. A green bank runs along the water, and the river in front shimmers in blue, gold and lilac reflections under a sky of drifting clouds.
Monet lived in Vétheuil from 1878 to 1881 and painted it from every angle, often from the opposite bank at Lavacourt or from his boat. The church, with its tall tower, became the landmark of all his views of the village.
Bright and picturesque, it suits a living room, a hallway or a country house. Our Monet prints and posters include Vétheuil in summer, in winter and twenty years later, in 1901. Our article on Claude Monet tells the story of this village in his life. Several sizes.
