Kids’ and Nursery Posters

Kids Wall Art Ideas, From Nursery to Tween Room

The Nursery (0 to 2 Years)

Parents need a nursery that feels calm at 3 a.m., and babies respond to soft shapes and gentle faces. Our watercolour storybook animals, a fox, a koala, a sleepy bear or a rabbit in the English countryside, keep the palette light and the mood quiet. Hang one above the chest of drawers or changing table, or a matching pair beside the crib rather than directly over it.

Toddlers and Preschoolers (3 to 6 Years)

This is the age of favourite animals and bedtime stories. Fairies, unicorns, mushroom houses and the woodland scenes of Nature's Child give them characters to name and stories to invent. Hang at least one print low, around 100 cm from the floor to its center, so it belongs to their world and not only to the grown-ups'.

School Age and Tweens (7 to 12 Years)

Older kids want a say. A dragon guarding a waterfall, a constellation map, a pixel-art world or a lo-fi cat with headphones feel less babyish and still work at twelve. Let them choose one poster themselves: it's the easiest way to make the room feel like theirs.

Which Poster Size for a Kids' Room?

• Above a chest of drawers or changing table: one 30 x 40 cm or 40 x 50 cm print.
• Above a single bed: one 50 x 70 cm poster, or two 30 x 40 cm prints side by side.
• Playroom gallery wall: three to five prints from 21 x 30 cm to 40 x 50 cm, in the same palette.
• Statement wall: one large 70 x 100 cm poster.

Frames, Safety and Changing Tastes

Our frames use shatterproof plexiglass rather than glass, which is safer in a room where balls fly. Every poster can be ordered unframed or in a black metal, white oak or natural oak frame, and you only pay for the frame: the framing itself is free. Kids' tastes move fast, so keep the frame and swap the print inside when the fox gives way to a dragon. For more on themes, colours and display, see our guide to nursery and kids' room wall art.
